yeah, so i've missed a few days...whoops. so whats been happening since tuesday?
well, not much....work has been interesting...in addition to frantically trying to get my invoices up to date in the quieter retail months, i discovered they had someone fixing the negative out of stocks list. BEFORE all the invoices were received...anyone who has anything to do with stock control will know why this is a teensy bit of a bad idea...basically, we end up apparently having thousands of dollars of stock more than we really have, until stocktake when said 'virtual stock' disappears...not a good look guys. but its all been fixed, due to the never ending patience of my namesake on back counter. and the more representative report will be printed tuesday, then we can get to work on it for real. other than that, work has been business as usual.
gym...has been going well! considering i am not a gym person, i'm pretty impressed with my minimum 2 visits per week, which is usually 3. but not this week, because i fell asleep...no joke.
this arve after lunch and excitedly talking my sister through buying tickets/logistics of personal travel for her first ever music festival, i promptly fell asleep. for about 4 1/2 hours. wtf? adrenal fatigue or what? although i could just still be sick, often if i let myself sleep when my lymphatic system is under siege, i won't actually get any symptoms, and i'll get over things a lot quicker. so there goes my gym time this arve :( and i was going to do the yoga class, so not happy about missing it. on the plus side, my favourite class (pump) is on tomorrow after work, so i'll definitely be at that one.
and on to the febfasting. i'm pretty surprised at how easy it's proving to be...there was the automatic wanting the post work drink on a friday arve, but i was still feelin pretty good from the gym, and after the first lime and soda, the inclination to drink alcohol was gone straight away. this weekend was pretty uneventful, resting up for soundwave this weekend, and future the weekend after that.
so a reminder of why i'm doing this. because this isn't very much about me, sure i'm on a bit of a health kick, but other than that, this is all about other people.
4 Australians under 25 die due to alcohol related injuries in an average week. and don't think thats just those who 'oh well, they're taking the risk and drinking heavily, not like me, i drink responsibly when i go out'. if you've ever had enough to drink that you've felt a drinking buzz, then you've had enough that you're in danger. slip in a gutter and fall in front of a car, try and break up a fight between mates and cop a punch to the head, these are things which are counted in 'alcohol' related injuries. and they're easy to do, even for a 'responsible' drinker. and i know what a lot of my friends are saying right now...'stop judging me, you take a risk every time you step out the door', or 'jade, i've seen you so drunk you can't even walk straight'. well, duh. both of these are true (except the bit about me judging). and drink all you want. just please don't die on me....one person lost to drug abuse is one person too many. this is about having support for those who have a problem and want support.
you'll probably also notice i switch between the words 'drugs' and 'alcohol' pretty often. this is because alcohol is a drug. it's a legal one, but so what? its a drug, and comes with the risks inherent in drug use. it is up to each individual to make their own choices. what i'm doing this month, is trying to raise funds for those who have made the choice that they want support for drug addiction.
so please get donating people, when you go out this weekend, have a whip round of your mates, and donate one round to my fundraising page www.febfastfundraising.com.au/jade_sorensen. it's worth it
and, here's the public shaming my older sister promised my mother.....you still haven't donated mum! slack as!
so thats it for another febfast weekend...peace out
